As most of you know...I love the crock pot! To me there was no greater invention for the kitchen...the microwave doesn't compare...forget it toaster, you can't even compete and oven...you're not even in the running...Give me a crock pot (I have seven) and I'm a happy person...so yes, a lot of my recipes will be for a slow cooker...and if you don't have one...there might just be a contest to win one soon...so keep an eye out for that...
But don't be shocked when you find out this recipe is not a crock pot recipe, but it is a simple, simple and delicious recipe...
I hope you and your family enjoy!
Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo (I make this with Shrimp, but you can use chicken if you want)
1 box of thin spaghetti or fettuccine
1 box of cream cheese (8 oz)
1 stick of butter
*3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
**cocktail shrimp/small shrimp (all ready cooked, tails off, etc - ready to heat and eat)
Boil your water and cook your noodles. While that is happening, put cream cheese, butter, milk and cheese in sauce pan and cook, stirring often.
When your noodles are almost done, pour shrimp into boiling water with noodles, when water begins to boil again, drain noodles/shrimp.
I put the noodles & shrimp back in the pot that I boiled them in and then I pour the sauce over top. Stir to mix sauce/noodle/shrimp together. Serve with a salad or breadsticks...
*you may need to use a little more milk then what is called for...just enough to make the sauce creamy and not too watery.
**the amount of shrimp you use will depend on how much shrimp you want in your Shrimp Fettucine Alfredo...I usually use one of the regular size bags that you can get at the store and that serves about four people.
Enjoy!
